Joe Guy's FAQ

Who are you?
My name is Terry Smith. I have been writing software for betting sporting events since the 80s, when I started with a QBASIC program on an IBM XT clone with a 10 MB hard drive.
I have since moved this program to Visual Basic, then Java and now, Ruby. The hardware has changed from a 8088 chip to a 286 then a 386 and now a series of Pentiums.
I have never stopped studying, developing and improving this model.

Who is Joe Guy?
'Joe Guy' is a theoretical member of the sports betting public.
This site follows him as he bets on games. He is different from the public in three ways.
1 - He bets the way the software I wrote tells him to and
2 - He practises money management by never betting more than a certain percent of his bankroll, usually 10%, on any one sport and
3 - He only makes ONE BET per sport per day.
These simple procedures separate him from 99% of the betting public - he always turns a profit for the year in all sports. Up to now. No promises - but it looks good.

Is this site free?
For the moment, yes. It's going to go pay sooner or later.
What's with the Pinnacle ads?
I chose to affiliate with Pinnacle Sports, beacuse they're the best.
I was a happy Pinnacle customer for some years before I started this website and I was repeatedly impressed with Pinnacle's professionalism.
Bets on games were resolved seconds after the event ended, no matter what time it was. Letters to Pinnacle were answered immediately, sometimes in less than one minute. Issues regarding bets, odds etc. were answered promptly and always turned out to be my fault.
Pinnacle has NEVER made a mistake that I've been able to catch them at.
They also have a great reputation on the Internet, both for excellence and as a place where you won't get kicked off if you start to win a lot.
A good sports bettor has to have several books in order to search for the best line, but Pinnacle Sports is the best place to start, and having an account there is not optional..
